[Chemical treatment of polluted vegetables].

Phase Engineering of Nanomaterials (PEN): Evolution, Current Challenges, and Future Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the synthesis, phase transition, advanced characterization spanning ex situ to in situ and operando techniques, and diverse applications of phase engineering of nanomaterials (PEN). It further outlines key challenges and future opportunities, such as phase stability, architecture control, and artificial intelligence (AI)‐driven ...

An integrated approach to indoor contaminant modelling

open access: yes, 2006
Air pollutants are those chemicals that are not generally present in the atmosphere because of natural causes but are disseminated into the air by human activity. In most parts of Europe, outdoor pollutants are principally the products of combustion from

Ratiometric Mycotoxin Detection in Living Plants With Dual‐Emissive Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive microneedle patch integrates carbon dot‐embedded metal–organic frameworks as nanosensors to detect a key fungal toxin in living plants. The nanosensor produces a ratiometric fluorescence signal that enables early, non‐destructive diagnosis of fungal infection before visible symptoms, offering a new biomaterials‐based strategy for ...

Analysis of operation using fresh leachate as a carbon source for denitrification of mature leachate

open access: yesGongye shui chuli
In response to the problems of insufficient carbon sources and high cost of carbon source supplementation in the two-stage AO+UF pretreatment process for landfill leachate, three carbon source supplementation schemes were constructed, including the ...

Efficient Osmotic Energy Conversion Enabled by Self‐Standing COF Membranes With Varied Sulfonic Acid Group Density

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐standing, strong sulfonated covalent organic framework membranes with varied ionic‐group density are developed for osmotic energy conversion. Optimized charge‐governed nanochannels enable highly selective ion transport, delivering a power density of 24.53 W m−2 under seawater/freshwater salinity gradients.

European project: Metrology for Chemical Pollutants in Air

open access: yes, 2013
The measurement of gaseous pollutants in air is a sensitive and priority issue that has a large impact on human health and environment. The European Directive on “Ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe” (2008/50/EC) sets limit values and data ...

Transient Laser‐Shocked Synthesis of Amorphous Layer‐Supported Metal Nanocrystals for Efficient Nitrate Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A general, versatile laser‐shock synthesis process is reported to produce various bimetallic CuNi, CuFe, CuCo, and medium‐entropy CuFeCoNi heterostructures, in which crystalline metal nanoparticles are anchored to amorphous hydroxide supports. During nitrate reduction reaction, the heterostructures undergo dynamic amorphous/crystalline reconstruction ...

Monitoring of PCDD/Fs and PCBs in European Eels (Anguilla anguilla) from Lake Garda: A Persistent Environmental Concern

open access: yesToxics
This study investigates the concentrations and patterns of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs (TEQ Diox+PCB-DL) and non-dioxin-like PCBs (PCB-NDL) in eels from Lake Garda, assessing their relationship with biometric and lipid parameters. TEQ Diox+PCB-DL levels
