Dynamics of Chemical Reaction Networks

open access: yes, 2022
Network architecture imposes constrains on the types of dynamics a network system admits. Chemical reaction networks have further constrains coming from a special feature of reaction rate functions: the kinetic equations can be written as a product of a ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Indistinguishability and identifiability of kinetic models for the MurC reaction in peptidoglycan biosynthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
An important question in Systems Biology is the design of experiments that enable discrimination between two (or more) competing chemical pathway models or biological mechanisms.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Synchronization of Chemical Reaction Networks Based on DNA Strand Displacement Circuits

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Reversible bimolecular chemical reactions are elementary chemical reactions. This paper investigated this reaction type based on DNA strand displacement, and proposed degradation, catalysis, and annihilation reactions along with the synchronization ...
