Valorisation of glycerol by new mechanochemical processes [PDF]
The search for new applications of glycerol, as a chemical platform from which a broad spectrum of new valuable derivatives can be obtained, is ongoing. In the present communication, a new mechano-chemical reactor is used for the valorisation of glycerol,

Organic crystalline polymers: structural properties and way to synthesis under high pressure
We consider different structures, which can be obtained by polymerization of aromatic organic molecules under high pressures. These 2D and 3D covalently bonded organic polymers and their functionalization can pave the way to production of energy storage ...

Asymmetric preparation of antifungal 1-(4 -chlorophenyl)-1-cyclopropyl methanol and 1-(4 -chlorophenyl)-2-phenylethanol. Study of the detoxification mechanism by Botrytis cinerea [PDF]
Chiral alcohols are important as bioactive compounds or as precursors to such molecules. On the basis of the different antifungal properties of the enantiopure alcohol derivatives of 4-chlorophenyl cyclopropyl ketone and benzyl 4-chlorophenyl ketone ...

Chemical Synthesis of Circular Proteins [PDF]
Circular proteins, once thought to be rare, are now commonly found in plants. Their chemical synthesis, once thought to be difficult, is now readily achievable. The enabling methodology is largely due to the advances in entropic chemical ligation to overcome the entropy barrier in coupling the N- and C-terminal ends of large peptide segments for either

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
