Detection of Enhanced Germanium in a New Cool Extreme Helium Star A980: Insights and Implications
A fine abundance analysis of a recently discovered hydrogen-deficient carbon (HdC) star, A980, is presented. Based on the observed high-resolution optical spectrum, we ascertain that A980 is a cool extreme helium (EHe) star and not an HdC star.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Magnetic Chemically Peculiar Stars with Unsteady Periods
Photometrically and spectroscopically variable chemically peculiar (CP) stars are the optimum laboratories for testing the rotational evolution of main sequence stars. A vast majority of well-studied CP stars have quite steady rotational periods (e.g. SrCrEu star CQ UMa). However, there are several CP stars that exhibit apparent period variations.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Rotational periods of magnetic chemically peculiar stars
Magnetic chemically peculiar (mCP) stars of the upper part of the main sequence usually exhibit strictly periodic variations of their light, spectrum and magnetic field. These changes can be well explained using the oblique rotator model of the rigidly rotating star with persistent photometric spots, uneven horizontal abundance of chemical elements and
