Therapeutic Response Assessment of Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization for Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Ultrasonography, CT and MR Imaging

Oncology, 2013
Two randomized controlled trials identified that transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) shows a significant survival benefit compared with controls, after a long-term controversy. Thus, TACE is the current standard of care for patients presenting with multinodular HCC.

[Chemoembolization of hepatocellular carcinomas: which factors determine therapeutic response and survival?].

RoFo : Fortschritte auf dem Gebiete der Rontgenstrahlen und der Nuklearmedizin, 2004
To determine independent prognostic factors influencing the survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE).Ninety-one patients with unresectable HCC were treated with 269 repetitive TACE.

MicroRNA Gene Polymorphisms in Evaluating Therapeutic Efficacy After Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization for Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Genetic Testing and Molecular Biomarkers, 2016
This study aimed to investigate the value of microRNA (miR) gene polymorphisms in evaluating the efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).A total of 507 patients with primary HCC were enrolled at our hospital from August 2010 to December 2014.

Utility of Contrast‐Enhanced Ultrasound for Early Therapeutic Evaluation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization

Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 2019
ObjectivesWe aimed to investigate whether contrast‐enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) could be useful for early evaluation of the treatment response to transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).MethodsThis study retrospectively selected HCCs in which homogeneous retention of iodized oil was confirmed on non–contrast ...

Transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma invading the portal veins: therapeutic effects and prognostic factors

European Journal of Radiology, 2004
This retrospective study was undertaken to evaluate the therapeutic effects of transcatheter hepatic arterial chemoembolization on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) invading the portal veins and to identify prognostic factors.Sixty-one patients underwent chemoembolization. The HCC had invaded the main portal vein in 23 patients, a first-order branch in 25
