Abstract Chemometrics is broadly defined as the application of mathematical and statistical methods to chemistry. Because the mathematical and statistical aspects of chemistry require measured values, analytical chemists have been at the forefront of the "chemometric revolution." Using the analysis of variance as a paradigm, I present an

The impact of spectral data pre-processing on the assessment of red wine vintage through spectroscopic methods. [PDF]
Abstract Background Red wine is a common target of fraudulent acts considering its high market value and popularity. Although there has been much effort to assess the geographical and varietal origin of wine, this is not the case for wine vintage.

Panel performance: Modelling variation in sensory profiling data by multiway analysis [PDF]
Sensory profiling data is essentially three-way data where samples, attributes and assessors are the three dimensions of information. It is common practice to average over the assessors and focus the analysis on the relations between samples and sensory ...

Structure–Activity Relationships in RuCs/MgO Catalysts During Ammonia Synthesis
Ru and Cs species in RuCs/MgO catalysts are mapped under relevant temperatures and pressures of ammonia synthesis with the help of operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy. Interconversion of three types of Ru (RuO2, highly dispersed RuOx clusters, and metallic Ru) as well as hydrated and dehydrated Cs+ species are observed and correlated with ammonia ...

A self-reactivated PdCu catalyst for aldehyde electro-oxidation with anodic hydrogen production
The low-potential aldehyde oxidation reaction can occur at low potential (~0 VRHE) and release H2 at the anode, enabling hydrogen production with less than one-tenth of the energy consumption required for water splitting.
