Crop sequencing effects of seven crops on grain yield, volunteers, and weeds in Saskatchewan

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
Abstract Every growing season, producers must decide which crops to grow and in what sequence to enhance returns and sustain productivity. However, when producers consider growing specialty crops like canary seed (Phalaris canariensis L.), coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.), hemp (Cannabis sativa L.), or quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), data are ...

Improving carbon modeling in aspen‐dominated forests: Lessons from CBM‐CFS3 evaluation against long‐term field data

open access: yesEcological Applications, Volume 36, Issue 6, September 2026.
Abstract Boreal forests cover a substantial portion of Canada's land base and play a central role in the national carbon budget through carbon storage and fluxes across multiple above‐ and belowground pools. The Carbon Budget Model of the Canadian Forest Sector (CBM‐CFS3) simulates and projects forest carbon dynamics under varying conditions and ...

Statistical comparison of soil analysing results of chernozem soils

open access: yes, 2008
The soil fertility was degraded as a result of unreasonable tillage, therefore the application of site-specific nutrient replacement is necessary. It is essential for the application of precision fertilization to know the location, extension, soil ...

Study of the effectiveness of a new humic preparation “Furor” at correction of immuno-deficiencies in newborn calves

open access: yesАграрная наука Евро-Северо-Востока, 2016
Humic preparations extracted from peat enhance resistance of living organisms against infections, stresses, cut rehabilitation period down, decrease risk for negative after-effects of vaccination. These preparations are not toxic, do not have cumulative,

The Effect of Long-Term Agricultural Use on the Bacterial Microbiota of Chernozems of the Forest-Steppe Zone

open access: yesDiversity, 2023
The structure of soil microbial communities and the factors that control it are still poorly understood and cause ongoing interest. The diversity of soil bacteria reflects the diversity of existing ecological niches and trophic connections between them ...

Linear Water Erosion in the State of Mato Grosso (Brazil): Spatial Analysis and Identification of Critical Areas

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 9, September 2026.
Mapping linear water erosion across Mato Grosso revealed spatially concentrated critical areas rather than a uniform distribution. Erosion foci were more frequent in environmentally fragile landscapes and areas of land‐use conflict, highlighting where monitoring and soil‐conservation actions should be prioritized.

Comparative characteristics of the properties of Halpic Chernozem of the Kursk Region of different land use [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Analytical data show that prolonged extensive agricultural use of typical Chernozem of Kursk region (Haplic Chernozem) results in adverse changes in some soil properties. This primarily concerns the humus content and the structural state of the Chernozem.
