Impact of TCAs and Gabapentin on Saliva and BMI in Adults With Xerostomia

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
In adults with medication‐related xerostomia, tricyclic antidepressant and gabapentin use were not independently associated with BMI or oral dryness after adjustment. Association Among Self‐Reported Bruxism, Stress and Headache in a Sample of Adolescents: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the conceptual pathway investigated in this cross‐sectional study: stress experienced by adolescents may be associated with self‐reported bruxism (sleep and awake), which in turn shows a significant association with primary headache (tension‐type or migraine). The findings indicate significant associations among self‐

Towards Optimized Awake Bruxism Metrics: Empirical Definition of Minimal Ecological Momentary Assessment Requirements

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
A pooled analysis of 327 participants and more than 32 000 EMA reports identified the minimum monitoring burden required for reliable awake bruxism assessment. Four of five core behaviours reached stable estimates after 3 monitoring days, while grinding stabilized after 2 days.

Effects of Aerobic Exercise and Strength Training on Nociplastic Pain and Clinical Features in Temporomandibular Disorders With Myalgia: A Randomized‐Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
In this randomized controlled trial, adding aerobic exercise or strength training to physical therapy improved outcomes in patients with temporomandibular disorders and nociplastic pain. Aerobic exercise produced greater reductions in pain and central sensitization‐related symptoms, whereas strength training improved trapezius muscle strength and long ...

Evaluation of Lingual Tactile Sensitivity Using a Pneumatic Multi‐Point Stimulation Device

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
A pneumatic multi‐point stimulation system was developed to quantify lingual sensory function by simulating the movement and elasticity of food within the oral cavity. The system revealed significant age‐related declines in tactile sensitivity for both detection of stimulus point movement during passive touch and discrimination of stimulus point ...
