A Chi-Square Statistic with Random Cell Boundaries

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1971
In testing goodness of fit to parametric families with unknown parameters, it is often desirable to allow the cell boundaries for a chi-square statistic to be functions of the estimated parameter values. Suppose $M$ cells are used and $m$ parameters are estimated using BAN estimators based on sample. Then A. R. Roy and G. S.

Statistics of Peaks in Chi-Squared Fields

open access: yes, 2018
Chi-squared random fields arise naturally from the study of fluctuations in field theories with SO(n) symmetry. The extrema of chi-squared fields are of particular physical interest. In this paper, we undertake a statistical analysis of the stationary points of chi-squared fields, with particular emphasis on extrema.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Predicting and Comparing the Subjective Health Experience of Older Cancer Survivors and Non‐Cancer Survivors: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study underscores the significant influence of frailty and vitality on the subjective health experience of older cancer survivors with acceptance and control emerging as salient mediators. These findings affirm the conceptual and empirical robustness of the model highlighting its potential utility in shaping future interventions for older cancer ...

Study of the immunoserological patterns of respiratory in fections in children under 15 years of age in the Riobamba region based on Refined Neutrosophic Statistics [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is an important cause of consultation in the emergency room and depending on the general condition of the person; it can become complicated and life-threatening.

The rate of convergence of some asymptotically chi-square distributed statistics by Stein's method

open access: yes, 2016
We build on recent works on Stein's method for functions of multivariate normal random variables to derive bounds for the rate of convergence of some asymptotically chi-square distributed statistics.

Prediction Model for Etiologic Differentiation of Isolated Vestibular Syndrome in Emergency Settings

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for differentiating central from peripheral etiologies in patients with isolated vestibular syndrome (VS). Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 506 patients with isolated VS from five hospitals were divided into derivation (n = 301) and validation (n = 205)
