Two-sample Bayesian Nonparametric Hypothesis Testing

open access: yesBayesian Analysis, 2015
In this article we describe Bayesian nonparametric procedures for two-sample hypothesis testing. Namely, given two sets of samples $\mathbf{y}^{\scriptscriptstyle(1)}\;$\stackrel{\scriptscriptstyle{iid}}{\s im}$\;F^{\scriptscriptstyle(1)}$ and $\mathbf{y}

Differentially Private Nonparametric Hypothesis Testing [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2019 ACM SIGSAC Conference on Computer and Communications Security, 2019
Hypothesis tests are a crucial statistical tool for data mining and are the workhorse of scientific research in many fields. Here we study differentially private tests of independence between a categorical and a continuous variable.

Statistical inferences and applications of nonparametric regression models based on fourier series [PDF]

open access: yesMethodsX
This study develops statistical inference methods, including estimation and hypothesis testing procedures, which consist of partial and simultaneous tests for nonparametric regression models based on Fourier series approximations.

Nonparametric Test of the Expected Utility Hypothesis [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1992
AbstractA nonparametric test of the expected utility hypothesis is developed in this paper. The expected utility hypothesis is shown to hold if there exists a feasible solution to a particular system of linear inequalities. Furthermore, when a feasible solution exists, boundaries on the coefficient of absolute risk aversion can be calculated explicitly.

A method for parameter hypothesis testing in nonparametric regression with Fourier series approach

open access: yesMethodsX, 2023
Nonparametric regression model with the Fourier series approach was first introduced by Bilodeau in 1994. In the later years, several researchers developed a nonparametric regression model with the Fourier series approach.

Nonparametric performance hypothesis testing with the information ratio

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2021
This study proposes a nonparametric bootstrap-based test to compare performances between two portfolios in terms of their information ratio. This serves as an extension to the literature that tests performance between two portfolio investment strategies ...

Nonparametric pattern recognition algorithm for testing a hypothesis of the independence of random variables

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2021
A new method for testing a hypothesis of the independence of multidimensional random variables is proposed. The technique under consideration is based on the use of a nonparametric pattern recognition algorithm that meets a maximum likelihood criterion ...
