Chi-square-based scoring function for categorization of MEDLINE citations

open access: yes, 2010
Objectives: Text categorization has been used in biomedical informatics for identifying documents containing relevant topics of interest. We developed a simple method that uses a chi-square-based scoring function to determine the likelihood of MEDLINE ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A new test procedure of independence in copula models via chi-square-divergence

open access: yes, 2011
We introduce a new test procedure of independence in the framework of parametric copulas with unknown marginals. The method is based essentially on the dual representation of $\chi^2$-divergence on signed finite measures. The asymptotic properties of the

Geology Programs and Disciplinary Accreditation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This report raises the question of whether accreditation may be coming to the geology discipline, and attempts to quantify the positions on accreditation of academic department heads/chairs.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Comparison of the Used Chi- Square Tests with Chi-Square Tests for Trend in Some Medical Papers

open access: yesپزشکی بالینی ابن سینا, 2001
One of the most common statistical tests in  the medical journals is chi-    square test. The present study compares the used chi-square tests in the    medical journals with chi-square for trend.

Comparing proportions: Methods beyond Chi-square tests

open access: yesEndodontology
The traditional method of comparing proportions is a Chi-square test. It provides an X2 value, which can be evaluated for statistical significance along with the degree of freedom.

An Improved Residual Chi-Square Test Fault Isolation Approach in Four-Gyro SINS

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, an improved residual chi-square test fault isolation approach is proposed. In order to improve reliability of strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS), redundant SINS composed of redundant inertial sensors is applied.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
