Nonparametric test for spatial geometric anisotropy

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2010
Paper deals with a problem of testing isotropy against geometric anisotropy for Gaussian spatial data. The original simple test statistic based on directional empirical semivariograms is proposed.

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Comparison of the Predictive Values of Multiple Binary Diagnostic Tests in the Presence of Ignorable Missing Data

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2017
The comparison of the predictive values of binary diagnostic tests is an important topic in the study of statistical methods applied to medical diagnosis. In this article, we study a global hypothesis test to simultaneously compare the predictive values

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

On a family of test statistics for discretely observed diffusion processes

open access: yes, 2011
We consider parametric hypotheses testing for multidimensional ergodic diffusion processes observed at discrete time. We propose a family of test statistics, related to the so called $\phi$-divergence measures. By taking into account the quasi-likelihood

Power of the Spacing test for Least-Angle Regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Recent advances in Post-Selection Inference have shown that conditional testing is relevant and tractable in high-dimensions. In the Gaussian linear model, further works have derived unconditional test statistics such as the Kac-Rice Pivot for general ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Factors Influencing Flight Delays of a European Airline

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2017
The main aim of the paper was to investigate factors influencing flight delays of a European airline. Besides the identification and analysis of those factors the paper offers possible suggestions on how to eliminate the delays.

Global hypothesis test to compare the likelihood ratios of multiple binary diagnostic tests with ignorable missing data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this article, a global hypothesis test is studied to simultaneously compare the likelihood ratios of multiple binary diagnostic tests when in the presence of partial disease verification the missing data mechanism is ignorable.
