Quantifying differences in breast cancer survival between England and Norway.

open access: yes, 2011

Engineering Pendant Group Chemistry to Control Hydrophilicity and Oxidative Degradation of Thioketal‐Based Biomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thioketal (TK) polymers are promising biomaterials due to their selective biodegradation by reactive oxygen species (ROS), but they respond slowly to physiologic doses of ROS. Here, the TK bond's pendant groups are modified to enhance the degradation of TK‐based implants both in vitro and in vivo.

Leaving the parental home, cohabitation, and marriage after a hematologic malignancy in childhood—A register‐based cohort study from the SALiCCS research program

open access: yesCancer Medicine
Introduction Transitioning to adulthood often involves achieving independence from the parental home. We assessed whether the likelihood of leaving the parental home, cohabitation, and marriage was similar between patients who experienced a hematologic ...

The global burden of childhood and adolescent cancer in 2017: an analysis of the Global Burden of Disease Study 2017

open access: yes, 2019
: Background Accurate childhood cancer burden data are crucial for resource planning and health policy prioritisation. Model-based estimates are necessary because cancer surveillance data are scarce or non-existent in many countries.

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

Chromosomal Instability Drives Glioblastoma Heterogeneity and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal form of brain cancer, is defined by profound genomic instability, with Chromosomal Instability (CIN) playing a central role in driving tumor progression, therapy resistance, and poor prognosis. CIN is characterized by numerical and structural alterations, is driven by mechanisms such as mitotic ...

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.
