Estimation of chilling and heat requirements for flowering in almond
Acta Horticulturae, 2020Assessment of chilling requirements for breaking dormancy (CR) and heat requirements for flowering (HR) in fruit trees is important for selecting cultivars suitable for the climatic conditions of the site. The objective of this study was to estimate CR and HR in six almond cultivars grown in the Belgrade region.

Phenology of Apple Cultivars with Different Chilling Requirements
Journal of Experimental Agriculture InternationalUnder mild climate conditions where chilling requirements are not met, the different phenological stages tend to extend and vary according to the year and chilling intensity. Knowledge on the phenological stages becomes important for the management of some cultural practices such as fruit thinning and phytosanitary treatments. The phenology of ‘Condesa’

The continuous chilling of poultry in relation to EEC requirements
International Journal of Food Science & Technology, 1977SummaryThe development of commercially viable techniques for the continuous chilling of poultry processed on high speed mechanized lines has attracted considerable research effort throughout Europe subsequent to the introduction of an EEC Directive concerned with the hygienic production, processing and distribution of fresh, chilled and frozen poultry ...

CHILLING REQUIREMENT OF STRAWBERRY CV. 'SONATA' AND 'FIGARO'
Acta Horticulturae, 2009'Sonata' and 'Figaro' are two new Junebearers from the breeding programme of Fresh Forward, The Netherlands. Runner plantlets of both cultivars were transplanted in trays outdoors on 15 July 2006. On 23 November 2006, after receiving 436 chill units in the field, the trayplants were put into cold storage at -1.5°C.

Gibberellic Acid and the Chilling Requirements of Peach Seeds
Nature, 1959PEACH seeds normally have to be stratified at a low temperature for approximately two months before they germinate. Unstratified seeds can be made to germinate by removal of the seed coats1, and experiments performed at this Institute2 indicate that unstratified embryos lack the power to overcome the mechanical resistance offered by the seed coats. The
