Dormancy, flowering and sex expression in 20 olive cultivars (Olea europea L.) under Giza conditions
Olive cultivars differed significantly concerning the number of buds per shoot, percentage of burst buds, and floral buds borne on one-year-old shoot. Time of flowering varied in the cultivars studied differently in two successive years of investigation.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

The Differentiation of Chilling Requirements of Kiwifruit Cultivars Related to Ploidy Variation
Kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis Planchon) is an economically important fruit, and its flowering and production are affected by the chill accumulation in winter. In this study, the chilling requirements of nine kiwifruit cultivars with three ploidy levels (

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Determination of the chilling durations in the Mediterranean coastal line of Turkey
The climatic conditions in the Mediterranean coastal line is subtropical and the winters change according to the years. Despite of this fact, temperate zone fruit growing is increasing day by day in all over the coastal area.

The effects of modified carcass chilling on beef carcass grade and quality of several muscles
To determine the effect of modified carcass chilling on beef carcass grade and meat quality, paired sides were assigned to modified (5°C for 24 h then 0–2°C until 48 h post-mortem) or control chilling (0–2°C for 24 h). After grading at the completion of

BEHAVIOUR of "CANINO" APRICOT CULTIVAR GROWN IN THREE DIFFERENT SOILS [PDF]
The response of “Canino” apricot trees to different soils were studied in three different regions, in El-Menoufia Governorate (as a sand and clay soil) & Alexandria Governorate (as a calcareous soil) during the two successive seasons of 2010 & 2011 ...
