IL‐2 Free Expansion of T Cells with Immunofilaments

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ratio and density of stimulatory αCD3 and αCD28 mAb on immunofilaments (IF) influence T cell expansion, cytokine production, and effector phenotype. Moreover, IL‐2 supplementation is not necessary with optimal performing IFs, which leads to simpler culture conditions, and negative side effects of IL‐2 supplementation are reduced.

Molecular characteristics of rice chimeras containing gene mutations induced by carbon ion beam radiation

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao
Chimeras are universal phenomena in the M1-generation plants obtained following radiation-induced mutagenesis; however, the mutational effects and variant inheritance mechanisms of related rice chimeras have yet to be sufficiently clarified.

The Bellerophon pipeline, improving de novo transcriptomes and removing chimeras

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2019
Transcriptome quality control is an important step in RNA‐Seq experiments. However, the quality of de novo assembled transcriptomes is difficult to assess, due to the lack of reference genome to compare the assembly to.

Cortical chimera states predict epileptic seizures.

open access: yesChaos, 2019
A chimera state is a spatiotemporal pattern of broken symmetry, where synchrony (coherent state) and asynchrony (incoherent state) coexist. Here, we report chimera states in electrocorticography recordings preceding, by several hours, each of seven ...

Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

ETV2 Mediated Differentiation of Human Pluripotent Stem Cells Results in Functional Endothelial Cells for Engineering Advanced Vascularized Microphysiological Models

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A robust method to generate functional human iPSC‐derived endothelial cells using inducible ETV2 expression. These cells self‐organize into stable, lumenized microvascular networks within microfluidic chips, surpassing conventional differentiation methods.

In vitro neoformation of grape chimeras (Vitis vinifera L.)

open access: yesOENO One, 1999
Difference in grape sensitivity to Botrytis cinerea attacks between cultivars was explained by differences in the epidermic tissue of the fruit. Therefore, this work was conducted to create a grape periclinal chimera, whose fruits would combine the skin ...

Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

Restriction of Germline Proliferation by Soft X-ray Irradiation of Chicken Embryos and its Application to Chimera Production

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2008
Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of gametes. Avian PGCs are located in the central region of the area pellucida at the blastoderm stage.
