Solvation Entropy as a Lever for Steering the Macroscopic Properties of a Functional Supramolecular Helical Polymer

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 3, 16 January 2026.
The structural transition between the two fully‐characterized states of a supramolecular helical hydrogen‐bonded polymer (represented as blue and light pink stacks) can be predictably varied over 85 K by changing the nature and amount of cosolvent; entropy of solvation (schematized as solvents of different sizes) is the main lever to tune the ...

Satellite Data Trace Seasonal Freshwater Dispersion in Hudson and James Bays

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Freshwater dispersal controls stratification, circulation, and biogeochemical processes in Hudson and James Bay (HJB); however, limited field observations hinder understanding of how different freshwater types drive change. This study uses Aqua‐Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer and Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity‐Microwave Imaging

Path Selective Photoinduced Energy and Electron Transfer in a Bis(acridinium‐Zn(II) Porphyrin)‐tetrapyridyl Porphyrin Host‐Guest Complex

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 4, 23 January 2026.
Tuning unusual energy and eT processes in a bis(acridinium‐Zn(II) porphyrin)‐tetrapyridyl porphyrin host‐guest complex. Abstract The 1:1 complex of a bis(acridinium‐Zn(II)porphyrin) host and a tetrapyridyl free‐base porphyrin guest shows a remarkable interplay of energy and electron transfer (eT) processes, finely tuned by the solvent polarity or the ...

Cyclodextrin‐Encapsulated N‐Heterocyclic Carbene–Copper(I) Complexes for Homogeneous Catalysis in Pure Water: Anaerobic Oxidation of Arylboronic Acids with Water as the Formal Oxidant

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 3, January 22, 2026.
Cyclodextrin(CD)‐encapsulated N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC)‐copper(I) complexes based on modified permethylated α or β CDs catalyze the ipso‐hydroxylation‐deborylation reaction of arylboronic acids in pure water at low copper loading. The reaction is favored by triethylamine and is compatible with various functionalized substrates.
