Formation mechanism and morphology prediction of CFRP chips

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2021
In order to solve the issue that it is difficult to removing the powder chips of carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP), the chip morphology prediction model for single-layer composite materials and the 3D drilling model and the chip formation process for laminated composites are developed to study the chip formation mechanism.

Experimental Research on Chip Morphology of Ti-5553 Cutting under High-Pressure Cooling

Integrated Ferroelectrics, 2022
Because Ti-5553 is a kind of difficult-to-machining material, this study uses high-pressure cooling to assist machining and compares it with dry cutting to observe the change of chip morphology in the cutting process.

A new cost-effective morphological filter chip

1997 IEEE Workshop on Signal Processing Systems. SiPS 97 Design and Implementation formerly VLSI Signal Processing, 2002
The paper proposes a new VLSI architecture for morphological filters and presents its design and implementation. The proposed architecture can significantly reduce hardware costs compared with existing architectures by using a feedback loop path to reuse partial results and a decoder/encoder pair comparator to detect minimum/maximum values. In addition,

Chip Morphology and Chip Formation Mechanisms During Machining of ECAE-Processed Titanium

Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering, 2017
Severe plastic deformation (SPD) processing such as equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) has been pioneered to produce ultrafine grained (UFG) metals for improved mechanical and physical properties. However, understanding the machining of SPD-processed metals is still limited.

An expandable chip design for gray-scale morphological operations

1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
A new pipeline architecture to perform 3 /spl times/ 3 gray-scale morphological operations in real time is presented. This architecture has both lower hardware cost and faster operation time than other presented architectures. Under 1.2-mm CMOS technique, this architecture is implemented as one chip with 0.5 /spl times/ 0.6 cm/sup 2/ area size.
