Analysis of the Chip Geometry in Dry Machining of Aeronautical Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Aluminum alloys are widely used in the manufacturing of structural parts for aircraft, frequently in combination with other materials such as CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer), to form FML (Fiber Metal Laminates) structures (CFRP/Al).

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Investigation of microstructure, machinability, and mechanical properties of new-generation hybrid lead-free brass alloys

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2023
In this study, hybrid alloys were obtained by casting method with alloy elements and additive such as Si and MoS2, which can be used instead of lead, and compared with Ecobrass and free cutting brass samples used in the market in terms of microstructure,

Hybrid fuzzy- proportionl integral derivative controller (F-PID-C) for control of speed brushless direct curren motor (BLDCM) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Hybrid Fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers (F-PID-C) is designed and analyzed for controlling speed of brushless DC (BLDC) motor. A simulation investigation of the controller for controlling the speed of BLDC motors is performed to ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Investigation into the End-Milling Parameters of Mg/B4C Metal Matrix Composites

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
The automotive, biomedical, and aerospace industries are attracted towards magnesium-based alloys and composites because they are among the lightest structural materials available and have significantly enhanced mechanical and physical characteristics ...

Modelling High Speed Machining with the SPH Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the use of the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method within the framework of high speed cutting modelling. First, a 2D SPH based model is carried out using the LS-DYNA® software.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Whole lifespan microscopic observation of budding yeast aging through a microfluidic dissection platform [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Important insights into aging have been generated with the genetically tractable and short-lived budding yeast. However, it is still impossible today to continuously track cells by high-resolution microscopic imaging (e.g., fluorescent imaging ...
