MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

A Large Voltage Responsivity Pyroelectric Sensor Based on Hot-Pressed Lead Zirconate Titanate Ceramic

open access: yesSensors
In this article, hot-pressed PZT ceramics were used as a sensitive element material and made into a pyroelectric chip. Three current mode sensors were fabricated using a pyroelectric chip of different thicknesses (80 μm, 40 μm, and 30 μm).

Complex Cryptographic and User‐Centric Physically Unclonable Functions Enabled by Strain‐Sensitive Nanocrystals via Selective Ligand Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates electromechanical PUFs that improve on traditional electric PUFs. The electron transport materials are coated randomly through selective ligand exchange. It produces multiple keys and a key with motion dependent on percolation and strain, and approaches almost ideal inter‐ and intra‐hamming distances.

Electrically Tunable On‐Chip Topological Photonics with Integrated Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates electrically tunable on‐chip topological THz devices by integrating 2D carbon nanotube (CNT) sheets with valley‐Hall photonic crystals, enabling broadband transmission modulation (71% modulation depth) and tunable narrowband filtering (0.54 GHz shift) through electrically induced thermal tuning. This advancement paves the way for

Determination of proportionality constants from cutting force modelling experiments during broaching operation [PDF]

open access: yesMaejo International Journal of Science and Technology, 2009
Mechanistic model assumes that the types of cutting force acting on the broach teeth, namely axial force, normal force and lateral force, are proportional to chip-thickness area.

Photonic Engineering Enables All‐Passive Upconversion Imaging with Low‐Intensity Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A passive upconversion imaging system enables the observation of scenes illuminated by low‐intensity incoherent near‐infrared light from 750 to 930 nm, by converting it into the visible without the use of external power. The upconverter is enabled by triplet–triplet annihilation in a bulk heterojunction, with absorption enhanced by plasmonic resonators

Expanding Chemical Space of Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles for Tunable Antiviral‐Like Immunomodulatory Responses and Potent Adjuvant Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles
