2-SR-based electrically small antenna for RFID applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, the 2-turn spiral resonator (2-SR) is proposed as an electrically small antenna for passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at the European ultra-high frequency (UHF) band. The radiation properties are studied in order to explore

High data density and capacity in chipless radiofrequency identification (chipless-RFID) tags based on double-chains of S-shaped split ring resonators (S-SRRs)

open access: yesEPJ Applied Metamaterials, 2017
The data density per surface (DPS) is a figure of merit in chipless radiofrequency identification (chipless-RFID) tags. In this paper, it is demonstrated that chipless-RFID tags with high DPS can be implemented by using double-chains of S-shaped split ...

Hybrid Frequency‐Polarisation Coding Method for Chipless Radio‐Frequency Identification Tags With Angular Orientation

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, a hybrid coding method for chipless radio‐frequency identification (RFID) tag with angular orientation is proposed. Frequency‐shift coding is achieved by controlling the size of three complementary split single ring resonators (CSSRR). And on the basis, we add a dimension of polarisation coding, which is achieved through changes in the ...

Degradable and Printed Microstrip Line for Chipless Temperature and Humidity Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 10, Issue 11, November 2024.
This study presents a biodegradable printed microstrip line with multi‐resonance for temperature and relative humidity monitoring. Zinc printed on paper encapsulated with beeswax serves as the radio‐frequency transducer. Two resonators at 1.2 and 2 GHz are used to sense temperature and humidity, respectively.

Interception amelioration of Chipless RFID Tags Using Deep Learning Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper, we have proposed data-driven methods to enhance the interrogation and reliability of Chip-less Radio Frequency Identification systems. Six binary combinations of an 8-bit RFID tag are fabricated on a Rogers RT / Duroid ® 5880 substrate ...

Compact slot-based chipless RFID tag [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE RFID Technology and Applications Conference (RFID-TA), 2014
We present a fully printable, planar, orientation independent, single layer, chipless RFID tag. The tag consists of a circular patch with multiple discretized circular slot resonators nested in it. This design reduces the total size of the tag since the discrete circular slot resonators resonate at a lower frequency than perfect circular resonators for

Meandered-slot antennas for sensor-RFID tags [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This letter introduces a planar antenna layout suited to Sensor-RFID fabrication. The geometry is based on a meandered-slot profile on a suspended patch and permits to host sensors and electronics in a small space.

Numerical Study of Chipless Tags for Radio-Frequency-Identification (RFID) Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2019
We present a numerical investigation of effective chipless tags for radio-frequency-identification (RFID) applications. Chipless tags have been introduced recently as alternatives to standard tags with microchips.
