Gold nanoparticle coated silicon nitride chips for intracellular surface-enhanced raman spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy on gold-nanoparticle-decorated silicon nitride chips, we monitor the release of dextran-rhodamin molecules from capsules inside living cells.

A microsensor array for biochemical sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A microsensor array to measure chemical properties of biological liquids is presented. A hybrid integration technique is used to mount four sensor chips on a micro flow channel: a pressure, temperature, pH, combined pO2 and pCO2 sensor chip. This results

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

A Survey of Automotive Radar and Lidar Signal Processing and Architectures

open access: yesChips, 2023
In recent years, the development of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADASs) is driving the need for more reliable and precise on-vehicle sensing. Radar and lidar are crucial in this framework, since they allow sensing of vehicle’s surroundings.

Deterministic Random Walks on Regular Trees

open access: yes, 2010
Jim Propp's rotor router model is a deterministic analogue of a random walk on a graph. Instead of distributing chips randomly, each vertex serves its neighbors in a fixed order. Cooper and Spencer (Comb. Probab. Comput.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Quality evaluation of tortilla chips made with corn meal dough and cooked bean flour

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture, 2016
A mixture of cornmeal dough and cooked bean flour (BF) was prepared at different ratios (50/50, 60/40, and 70/30 w/w), and processed to chips. Viscosity profile, temperature of gelatinization and enthalpy, texture, protein content, and in vitro ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.
