Chiral Polyaniline Hollow Nanotwists toward Efficient Enantioselective Separation of Amino Acids.

open access: yesACS Nano, 2019
Controllable fabrication of complex chiral nanostructures of functional materials from achiral systems remains a great challenge. Herein, polyaniline (PANI) hollow nanotwists as complex chiral nanostructures have been prepared by chemical oxidation of ...

Non‐Destructive Laser Nanopatterning of Superconducting Heterostructures in Topological Sn Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate successful fabrication of high‐quality α‐Sn/β‐Sn planar nanostructures with arbitrary shapes by focused laser irradiation on topological Dirac semimetal α‐Sn thin films. The irradiated regions transform into atomically smooth, superconducting β‐Sn with a critical temperature of 3.7 K.

Biosignature Detection from Amino Acid Enantiomers with Portable Gas Chromatography Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Devices & Instrumentation
This paper presents developments in stationary phase coatings for microelectromechanical system gas chromatography (MEMS GC). Specifically, we present the coating of MEMS GC separation columns with a chiral stationary phase for the separation of amino ...

Observation of Topological Chirality Switching Induced Freezing of a Skyrmion Crystal

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Using Lorentz Transmission electron microscopy, it is shown that in the insulating van der Waals ferromagnet, CrBr3, a magnetic field can cause Bloch skyrmionic bubbles to spontaneously switch their chirality. As achiral type‐II bubbles are an intermediate state, the bubbles rapidly elongate and shrink when switching, thereby inducing a freezing of the

A Cu‐Based Near‐IR Active MOF with an Ion‐Pair Guest Exhibiting Versatile and Selective Gas‐Solid Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The new Cu‐containing MOF (Me2NH2)(CuICl2)@[Cu4(INA)4Cl2O]·1.5dmf (3) contains a cation and an anion as guests and shows UV‐near‐mid‐IR absorption and near‐IR emission. MOF 3 shows gas‐solid reactivity in the presence of NH3 and HCOOH to yield two new 3D MOF.
