Training software for chiral separations in capillary electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A previously published steady-state simulation program for CE was extended with a sub-menu for chiral interaction. The interaction was modelled with a hypothetical (neutral) selector with properties similar to cyclodextrins.

Inverse Design of Nanoparticulate Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inverse design shifts nanomaterial development from empirical trial‐and‐error to predictive model‐driven strategies. It can rely on knowledge‐based, data‐based, or hybrid process and property functions. This perspective article provides a practical framework for applying inverse design based on instructive examples. It discusses which modeling approach

Programmable Carrier‐Free All‐Enzyme Beads for Modular Continuous‐Flow Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Genetically encoded enzyme building blocks self‐assemble into monodisperse, carrier‐free protein beads via a droplet‐based formulation strategy. These programmable catalytic particles enable modular continuous‐flow biocatalysis, from single‐enzyme reactions to multi‐enzyme cascades and bead–bead coupled reactor systems.

Organocatalytic desymmetrization provides access to planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophanes

open access: yesNature Communications
Planar chiral [2.2]paracyclophanes consist of two functionalized benzene rings connected by two ethylene bridges. These organic compounds have a wide range of applications in asymmetric synthesis, as both ligands and catalysts, and in materials science ...

Printed SWCNT‐Based p–n Junction Thin‐Film Near‐Infrared Photoresistors Enabled by a Sustainable Furan‐Derived π‐Conjugated Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A sustainable polymer–carbon nanotube bilayer enables efficient near‐infrared photodetection in a simple lateral planar p–n junction thin‐film architecture. Thermal side‐chain cleavage enhances interfacial coupling, shifts the dominant photoresponse from 800 to 1000 nm, and substantially improves device performance.

Programming Light‐Driven Surface Topographies in Liquid Crystal Elastomers for Potential Biomedical Applications Through Combined Experiments and Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A combined experimental and simulation study of light‐responsive liquid crystal elastomer surfaces operating under physiological conditions is reported, demonstrating programmable and highly spatially controlled topography formation through bottom‐side photomask exposure. Our study establishes a foundation for dynamic, light‐responsive biosurfaces with

HPLC and SFC Enantioseparation of (±)-Trans-β-Lactam Ureas on Immobilized Polysaccharide-Based Chiral Stationary Phases—The Introduction of Dimethyl Carbonate as an Organic Modifier in SFC

open access: yesSeparations
A series of nine racemic trans-β-lactam ureas were analyzed for enantiomer separation by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC).

Multi-hadron-state contamination in nucleon observables from chiral perturbation theory*

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Multi-particle states with additional pions are expected to be a non-negligible source of the excited-state contamination in lattice simulations at the physical point. It is shown that baryon chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) can be employed to calculate

A study of carbohydrate stationary phases for the separation of enantiomers by high performance liquid chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes
The relationship between the structure and chromatographic properties of silica is discussed and the preparation and properties of chemically-bonded stationary phases based on silica are reviewed.
