Deconfinement and Chiral Symmetry Restoration

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss the critical behaviour of strongly interacting matter close to the QCD phase transition. Emphasis is put on a presentation of results from lattice calculations that illustrate deconfining as well as chiral symmetry restoring features of the phase transition.

Chiral Plasmonic Printing of Discrete Hierarchical Chiral Au@Chiral Ag Semi‐Core‐Shell Nanorods With Chiral Plasmon‐Enhanced Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chiral plasmonic printing uses CPL as a chiral stimulus to guide asymmetric Ag deposition on chiral Au NRs seeds. Under CPL, hot carriers reduce Ag+, and the process is controlled by both the CPL handedness and the chiral SPR. L‐dc Au generates more hot electrons under LCP than RCP, while D‐dc Au shows the opposite, revealing chiral photon‐selective ...

Emergent 3D Fermiology and Magnetism in an Intercalated Van der Waals System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An emergent three‐dimensional electronic state is uncovered in an intercalated van der Waals system. A spin‐polarized intercalant‐host hybridized band crossing the Fermi level provides an itinerant channel for interlayer exchange, highlighting how electronic dispersion governs magnetic dimensionality.

Tunable Reversible Photochromic Ultralong Organic Phosphorescence via a Universal Phenylpyridine Noncovalent Assembly Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A concise supramolecular assembly strategy using α‐cyclodextrin and phenylpyridine derivatives affords dual‐functional materials with switchable multicolor photochromism and tunable ultralong organic phosphorescence, offering new platforms for various photonic applications. ABSTRACT Supramolecular photochromic materials capable of reversible alteration

Plaid‐Like Spin Splitting and Chirality of Magnon Bands in Antiferromagnetic MnTe2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Helicity‐ and angle‐resolved Raman spectroscopy reveals chiral magnons in the non‐coplanar antiferromagnet MnTe 2. Combined with first‐principles calculations and spin‐wave theory, the results establish its altermagnetic character through circular Raman dichroism, reduced rotational symmetry, and a distinctive plaid‐like momentum‐space magnon spin ...

Emergent Spinning and Orbital Motion in Clustered Wind‐Assisted Flyers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural snowflake geometries, paper‐cut flyers exhibit geometry‐defined spinning and orbital motions during cluster formation in a wind tunnel. Collective flights of multiple paperflakes reveal dynamic clustering, fragmentation, and continuously evolving spin behaviors.

Structural Colors from Modulated Topological Defects in Molecular Smectic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rather than using dyes and pigments, nature produces the colors of some butterflies and beetles through optical interference phenomena. This study describes an original biomimetic strategy exploiting the spontaneous formation of modulated linear defects in thin films of 8CB, a common molecular liquid crystal.

Isomeric Ag14 Nanoclusters With Distinct Photophysical and Nanomechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ligand‐shell isomerism in atomically precise Ag14 nanoclusters is demonstrated to regulate core distortion, photoluminescence, and mechanical properties. Subtle changes in phosphine ligand arrangement drive a pronounced emission shift from green to red and alter crystal rigidity, revealing a direct structure‐property correlation that offers new design ...
