Naturalness, Chiral Symmetry, and Spontaneous Chiral Symmetry Breaking [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A properly called “naturalness” is imposed on gauge theories. It is an order-of-magnitude restriction that must hold at all energy scales μ. To construct models with complete naturalness for elementary particles one needs more types of confining gauge theories besides quantum chromodynamics.

Dynamic Symmetry Breaking in Chiral Magnetic Systems [PDF]

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2021
AbstractThe Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction (DMI) in magnetic systems stabilizes spin textures with preferred chirality, applicable to next‐generation memory and computing architectures. In perpendicularly magnetized heavy‐metal/ferromagnet films, the interfacial DMI originating from structural inversion asymmetry and strong spin‐orbit coupling ...

Photochemical Chiral Symmetry Breaking in Alanine [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2016
We introduce a general theoretical approach for the simulation of photochemical dynamics under the influence of circularly polarized light to explore the possibility of generating enantiomeric enrichment through polarized-light-selective photochemistry. The method is applied to the simulation of the photolysis of alanine, a prototype chiral amino acid.

Confinement and Chiral Symmetry Breaking from an ensemble of interacting Instanton-dyons(monopoles) in SU(2) QCD

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
We show how the increase in the Instanton-dyon density can explain both Confinement and Chiral symmetry breaking. We simulate an ensemble of 64 interacting Instanton-dyons for 2 colors and 0 or 2 quark flavors.

Vector mesons in medium

open access: yesAAPPS Bulletin, 2021
After decades-long attempts to measure the mass shift and understand the origin of hadron mass, it became clear that one has to analyze hadrons with small vacuum width. Also, to identify the effect of chiral symmetry breaking, one has to start by looking

A simple mass-splitting mechanism in the Skyrme model

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2018
It is shown that the addition of a single chiral symmetry breaking term to the standard ω-meson variant of the nuclear Skyrme model can reproduce the proton–neutron mass difference.

Chiral symmetry breaking in brane models [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2008
We discuss the chiral symmetry breaking in general intersecting Dq/Dp brane models consisting of N_c Dq-branes and a single Dp-brane with an s-dimensional intersection. There exists a QCD-like theory localized at the intersection and the Dq/Dp model gives a holographic description of it.

Confinement, Chiral Symmetry Breaking and it's Restoration using Dual QCD Formalism

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Utilizing the dual QCD model in term of magnetic symmetry structure of non- Abelian gauge theories, the dynamical chiral-symmetry breaking using Schwinger-Dyson equation has been investigated.

Evolution of holographic Fermi arcs from a Mott insulator

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We study fermions in asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole spacetimes which interact via novel chiral symmetry-preserving interactions. Computing the dual fermion two-point correlator, we show that these bulk interactions anisotropically gap Fermi ...
