Multiuser Communication Using Chirp Signals of Equal Chirp Rate

2018 Twenty Fourth National Conference on Communications (NCC), 2018
Chirp modulation can be considered as a type of spread spectrum modulation process providing high processing gain, robustness to multipath interference, requirement of low power. The paper presents a multiuser communication system using chirp signals having the same chirp rate and different initial frequencies for different users.

Distortion Characterization of Exponential Signal Reconstructed by Low-Chirp Signal

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2019
This paper is an extension of the procedure pointed out to evaluate the distortion of the exponential signal, modeled as multiexponential signal with different amplitudes and time constants. This procedure evaluates the distortion by applying the Prony-like method to the signal reconstructed by zero-crossing time evaluated on the difference between the

Chirp signal detection using the Duffing oscillator

CONIELECOMP 2012, 22nd International Conference on Electrical Communications and Computers, 2012
The chaotic oscillator has become an important tool in the analysis of harmonic signals with low signal to noise ratio. On the other hand, traditionally, frequency modulated (FM) signals have always been studied through conventional techniques of time-frequency analysis.

Complex heterodyne for undersampled chirped sinusoidal signals

Applied Optics, 2006
We describe a method for analyzing frequency-chirped sinusoidal signals using a complex heterodyne, sometimes also known as complex demodulation on the digitized waveform. This method allows one to use prior knowledge of the signal to reduce the effective bandwidth of the signal. The method can be used to extract a frequency-chirped signal even when it

Estimation of parameters in random amplitude chirp signal

Signal Processing, 2020
Abstract In this paper, we consider the random amplitude chirp signal model observed with independent and identically distributed additive error as proposed by Besson et al. [2] . The random amplitudes are also independent and identically distributed random variables with non-zero mean and some finite higher order moments. We consider the estimators

MMSE parameter estimation of multiple chirp signals

1996 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 2002
We propose an iterative algorithm for minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimation of the parameters of multiple superimposed linear chirp signals in white Gaussian noise. The parameter estimation of each chirp component is carried out by two dimensional integration.

An Algorithm for Parameter Estimation of Multicomponent Chirp Signals

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
This paper presents an algorithm for estimating the parameters of multicomponent chirp signals. The estimator is based on the cubic phase function (CPF), which is efficient to estimate the parameters of monocomponent polynomial phase signals (PPS) with order is less than or equal to 3.

Detection and estimation of changes in the parameters of a chirp signal

1995 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
The problem is the detection and the estimation of abrupt changes in a chirp signal. In this case, an exact generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) test cannot be achieved, the system leading to the maximum likelihood estimates (MLE) of the parameters being nonlinear.

Estimation of chirp signals with time-varying amplitudes

Signal Processing, 2018
Abstract The problem of parameters estimation of signals composed of an unknown number of chirps with time-varying amplitude is presented using a sparse reconstruction framework. The method employs a parametric model using a weighted combination of splines to model the time-varying nature of the signal amplitudes.
