Parameter estimation for random amplitude chirp signals
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1999We consider the problem of estimating the parameters of a chirp signal observed in multiplicative noise, i.e., whose amplitude is randomly time-varying. Two methods for solving this problem are presented. First, an unstructured nonlinear least-squares approach (NLS) is proposed.

Time varying autoregressive signal models, with an application to chirped signals
ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005The main thrust of this work is to develop a method for estimating the frequency and rate of change of frequency for "linear FM" signals. The approach taken is to develop an auto-regressive model for such a signal. The resulting model has time varying coefficients.

Chirp group delay analysis of speech signals
Speech Communication, 2007This study proposes new group delay estimation techniques that can be used for analyzing resonance patterns of short-term discrete-time signals and more specifically speech signals. Phase processing or equivalently group delay processing of speech signals are known to be difficult due to large spikes in the phase/group delay functions that mask the ...

Aggressive Signal in "Courtship" Chirps of a Gregarious Cricket
Science, 1982Unlike other known species of crickets, Amphiacusta maya in Central America mates in groups. Experimentally silenced males experience reduced mating success, not owing to decreased receptivity by females, but owing to increased time spent fighting with other males that persistently interrupt silent courtships. Thus,

Analytic signal demodulation of phase-modulated frequency-chirped signals
Applied Optics, 2013Both interferometers and frequency-modulated (FM) radios create sinusoidal signals with phase information that must be recovered. Often these two applications use narrow band signals but some applications create signals with a large bandwidth. For example, accelerated mirrors in an interferometer naturally create a chirped frequency that linearly ...

Implementation of DDS chirp signal generator on FPGA
2014 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2014Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an active sensor that is widely used such as military purpose, land observation, and etc. The main characteristics of SAR system are as follow. First, as SAR uses microwave, it can be operated regardless of the weather and day-night conditions.
