Assessing Dominant Uncertainties in Future Precipitation Projections for a Hurricane‐Prone Region
Abstract Accurate projection of future precipitation remains challenging due to uncertainties in reference data sets, bias correction and global climate models (GCMs). Here, we evaluated these uncertainties across 13 major cities of the U.S. Gulf Coast, a hurricane‐prone region, under 192 historical and future scenarios.

In situ aerial bioacoustic monitoring from extremely noisy drone recordings
Abstract Aerial bioacoustic monitoring has the potential to transform biodiversity surveys by enabling rapid acoustic sampling across large and inaccessible habitats. However, its application from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has remained limited because strong rotor self‐noise overwhelms target sounds such as bird vocalisations, compromising the ...

We raised fall field crickets in acoustic environments of silence, their own song, traffic noise, or the song of the recently introduced Japanese burrowing cricket and measured development, size, and adult survival. We found that crickets reared with burrowing cricket song developed more quickly than crickets reared in silence.

Adaptive Acoustic Monitoring for Endangered Cook Inlet Beluga Whales in Complex Soundscapes
ABSTRACT Effective conservation of the endangered Cook Inlet beluga whale (Delphinapterus leucas) requires comprehensive spatiotemporal data, yet monitoring efforts remain spatially biased, underrepresenting important southern habitats. Passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) provides the necessary broad‐scale coverage, but its expansion introduces ...

First Observation of the Second Harmonic of Upper Band Chorus Waves Linking to Slow Z‐Mode
Abstract The Z‐mode, comprising fast and slow branches, is a ubiquitous electromagnetic wave in planetary magnetospheres. While fast Z‐mode generation is attributed to electron cyclotron maser instability, the slow Z‐mode mechanism remains unresolved.

Current and Future Changes in Earth's Outgoing Infrared Spectrum
Abstract Hyperspectral infrared satellite observations provide an information‐rich, global record of climate mean state and change without the structural uncertainties often present satellite retrievals and reanalyses. Current and planned hyperspectral satellite missions will continuously observe changes in Earth's outgoing infrared spectrum into the ...

Impacts of Deforestation‐Driven Rainfall Reductions on Amazonia Forest Stability
Abstract The stability of Amazonian vegetation is strongly influenced by land–atmosphere feedbacks. It has been hypothesized that deforestation‐induced precipitation decline may lead to widespread forest decline across the entire basin. Using a moisture‐tracking model, we quantify how deforestation across South America alters downwind rainfall and ...

Highly selective deuteration is now possible with a green and more environmentally benign reaction protocol for Cu‐catalyzed transfer hydrodeuteration of alkenes and alkynes. This was applied to the synthesis of precisely deuterated alkanes, including deuterated complex molecules and high enantiopurity isotopomers. Precisely labeled small molecules are

Performance Evaluation of the MPAS Model in Simulating Southeast Asian Rainfall Characteristics
This study evaluates the performance of the Model for Prediction Across Scales–Atmosphere (MPAS) in reproducing key rainfall characteristics over Southeast Asia (SEA) during 2000–2020, using the MSWEP dataset as reference. MPAS realistically captures the observed meridional rainfall gradient, with higher rainfall in the south and lower in the north, as
