Compressive Chirp Transform for Estimation of Chirp Parameters

2019 27th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO), 2019
This paper develops a new algorithm for estimating the parameters of multiple chirp signals in noise. The proposed method uses Compressive Sensing (CS) formulation of the Discrete Chirp Fourier Transform (DCFT) basis to achieve superior estimator performance.

Chirp compression with single chirped mirrors and its assembly

Microelectronics Journal, 2008
Chirped mirrors are widely used in ultrafast optics as broadband devices for dispersion compensation. Time domain analysis in contrast to frequency domain one allows the direct investigation of pulse profile changing during chirp compression. We model the chirped pulse compression with single chirped mirror and assembly of similar mirrors. Our analysis

The impact of range chirp on chirp scaling algorithm

IEEE 1999 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. IGARSS'99 (Cat. No.99CH36293), 2003
The chirp scaling algorithm (CSA) is considered as an efficient SAR imaging algorithm. The existence of the range-uncompressed chirp is the necessary condition for CSA to be used. However, if the range chirp is large in the high squint angle case, there will be a strong coupling between the range chirp and azimuth frequency.

Robust chirped mirrors

Applied Optics, 2008
Optimized chirped mirrors may perform suboptimally, or completely fail to satisfy specifications, when manufacturing errors are encountered. We present a robust optimization method for designing these dispersion-compensating mirror systems that are used in ultrashort pulse lasers. Possible implementation errors in layer thickness are taken into account

Chirping

2023
AbstractHere Dickens elects an agent of change associated with domesticity. The Cricket’s task is to heal a broken marriage between a middle-aged carrier of parcels, John Peerybingle, and his young bride Dot. This appears to be another version of unfortunate January-May marriages, set in late January when the carrier married a year ago.

Optimization of chirped mirrors

Applied Optics, 2002
We demonstrate that a highly efficient global optimization of chirped mirrors can be performed with the memetic algorithm. The inherently high sensitivity of chirped-mirror characteristics to manufacturing errors can be reduced significantly by means of the stochastic quasi-gradient algorithm.

Multiple Linear Chirp-Based Partial-Band Chirp Jamming for Chirp Spread Spectrum Systems

2019 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2019
The conventional noise-based jamming strategy that randomly radiates high power radio frequency signals limits the jamming performance when the bandwidth is spread more widely. Moreover, increasing the jamming bandwidth to deteriorate entire spreading bandwidth reduces the jamming bandwidth efficiency.

Analysis of chirped-sampled and sampled-chirped fiber Bragg gratings

Applied Optics, 2002
We analyze sampled fiber Bragg gratings that have chirp in the grating period, in the sampling function, or in both. In the last-named case the sampling period can be chirped, the sample length can be chirped, or both. We explain the features in the spectral and group-delay (dispersion) responses for gratings that have a single chirp parameter. We then

Directly Chirped Laser Source for Chirped-Pulse Amplification

Lasers, Sources and Related Photonic Devices, 2010
A programmable, all-fiber, chirped-pulse seed laser system based on direct phase modulation produces 2.5-ns optical pulses with 0.78-nm bandwidth centered at 1053 nm that are suitable for chirped-pulse amplification.

Chirped-sampled and sampled-chirped fiber Bragg gratings

Bragg Gratings, Photosensitivity, and Poling in Glass Waveguides, 2001
We analyze sampled Bragg gratings having chirp in either the grating period and/or sampling function [sampling period or sample length]. The response of sampled gratings having multiple chirped parameters can be explained in terms of the single chirped parameter cases.
