Subacute Toxicity of Chitosan Oligosaccharide in Sprague-Dawley Rats
Arzneimittelforschung, 2011A subacute oral toxicity study of chitosan oligosaccharide was performed in Sprague-Dawley rats of both sexes. Each 36 male and female rats were administered by gavage with 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg/kg/day for 4 weeks (7 days/week), respectively.

Geraniol grafted chitosan oligosaccharide as a potential antibacterial agent
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2017The novel derivatives of geraniol grafted chitosan oligosaccharide were synthesized via substitution and deprotection reaction, respectively. The products were identified by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy.

Sustained release of ATP encapsulated in chitosan oligosaccharide nanoparticles
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2010The chemical cross-linked chitosan oligosaccharide (CSO) nanoparticles containing ATP/CSO ionic complex nano-components were prepared using combination techniques of W/O miniemulsion, chemical cross-linking and ionic complexation. The resulted nanoparticles had about 110 nm diameter and 20 mV surface zeta potential.

Carbohydrate Polymers
Bioconversion of chitosan into soluble anti-inflammatory chitosan oligosaccharides (CHOS) using a Bacillus chitosanase, BsCsn46A, was investigated, including food-grade approaches. After 48 h of enzymatic reaction, most of the final products were dimers and trimers. None of the CHOS products showed toxicity to human fibroblasts.

SummaryChitosan is a non‐toxic polyglucosamine, widespread in nature, which is deacetylated to varying degrees form of chitin, a component of exoskeleton of shrimps, crabs and insects. Because chitosan contains reactive functional groups, that is, amino acids and hydroxyl groups, it is characterised by antimicrobial, anti‐inflammatory, anti‐oxidative ...

Methotrexate-Loaded Chitosan Oligosaccharide-ES2 for Targeted Cancer Therapy
ACS Applied Materials & InterfacesCancer presents a significant health threat, necessitating the development of more precise, efficient, and less damaging treatment approaches. To address this challenge, we employed the 1-ethyl-(3-dimethyl aminopropyl) carbodiimide/N-hydroxy succinimide (EDC/NHS) catalytic system and utilized quaternized chitosan oligosaccharide (HTCOSC) as a drug ...
