Design of Well‐Defined Meso‐ or Macroporous Carbon Nitride with an Amorphous Framework via Perovskite Fluoride Templating

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 45, 13 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Here, we report a synthetic strategy for meso‐ or macroporous carbon nitride (C3N4) using perovskite‐type metal fluorides (KMF3, M = Co, Ni) as hard templates. The synthesis involves a two‐step thermal treatment. An initial low‐temperature polycondensation of melamine generates polymeric intermediates that stabilize the template/precursor ...

Dimethyl‐, Diethyl‐, and Propylene Carbonates: An Emerging Class of Green Solvents for Organic Synthesis

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, Volume 26, Issue 8, August 2026.
This review highlights recent advances in the use of organic carbonates, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), and propylene carbonate (PC), as solvents in organic synthesis. Based on over seventy studies from the past 6 years, it shows their application in different organic reaction types, emphasizing their role in safer and more ...

Chemical treatment rescues reduced growth of the autoimmune mutant chs3‐2D without compromising its immune responses

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 5, Page 1686-1697, August 2026.
We generated a compound by chemical modification that can efficiently rescue growth without decreasing the immune response of the chs3‐2D autoimmune mutants, thus chemically uncoupling its growth–defence trade‐off. Abstract Plant development in many species including Arabidopsis relies on the accurate balance between growth and defence.

Acyclic Hydrocarbon α,ω‐Dienes: From Biomass and Plastic Upcycling to Carbocycles, Precision Polymers, and Cross‐Linked Elastomers

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 14, 29 July 2026.
Hydrocarbon α,ω‐dienes are mainly produced from steam‐cracking derivatives, but high costs, complexity, and environmental impact limit their use. This review highlights sustainable paths from biomass and plastic upcycling, and surveys catalytic transformations into carbocycles and specialty polymers, emphasizing their role as modular building blocks ...
