In HepG2 cells, Aroclor 1254 induced oxidative stress, DNA damage, apoptosis, and mutagenicity; co‐treatment with curcumin restored antioxidant defenses (GSH/thiols; SOD, CAT, GPx, GR, TrxR), reduced ROS and comet/8‐OHdG readouts, and attenuated caspase activation, demonstrating curcumin's hepatoprotective and genoprotective modulation of PCB toxicity.

ABSTRACT Hydrogen chlorine (HCl) is an important combustion intermediate during plastic (municipal waste) and composite propellant (aerospace) combustion, but the understanding of its high‐temperature chemistry is still evolving. In this study, the pyrolysis of 0.5% HCl in Ar was investigated behind reflected shock waves in a shock tube at temperatures

Synthesis, Solubilization, and Photophysical Properties of Polyfluorinated Pentacene Dimers
The synthesis and photophysical analysis of polyfunctionalized pentacene dimers is described. Polyfluorination is employed to modulate the polarizability and to investigate the effects on the mechanism of singlet fission (SF). ABSTRACT A polyfluorinated pentacene dimer, linked with a 1,3‐diethynylphenylene spacer, was synthesized to investigate the ...

Remarkable Formation of Indene Derivatives Upon Friedel–Crafts Acylation Reactions
This shows indene derivatives. Under the reaction conditions of a Friedel–Crafts acylation, alkyl benzenes underwent an unprecedented cyclopentannulation furnishing indene derivatives. Alkylbenzene derivatives react with two equivalents of pivaloyl chloride (PivCl) in the presence of aluminum trichloride under formation of indene derivatives with up to

MnCl2‐Catalyzed Photochemical Functionalization of Unactivated C(sp3)H Bonds
A photochemical method enables the activation of alkanes, utilizing cheap and abundant MnCl2 as the photocatalyst. Alkenylation and alkylation reactions are performed, affording the desired products in good yields. Activation of inert C(sp3)H bonds is of great importance in organic synthesis, since it can functionalize unreactive molecules, such as ...
