Cobalamin‐Dependent Aryl Methyl Ether O‐Demethylases: Promising Enzymes for Biocatalytic Applications from Lignin Valorization to Organic Synthesis

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Cobalamin‐dependent aryl methyl ether O‐demethylases have high potential for biocatalytic applications, including lignin valorization and synthetic chemistry. In this review, we provide a detailed overview of such O‐demethylase systems identified to date from various microorganisms, including their mechanism, substrate scope and selectivity, and ...

Modulation of the Acidity of HY, HBETA, and HZSM‐5 Zeolites by Lanthanum Incorporation for Selective Gasoline Desulfurization in the FCC Riser

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Desulfurization in the FCC riser is achieved by modifying zeolite catalysts with La3+ ions, promoting H2S formation from thiophenic compounds while suppressing secondary reactions. This approach enhances gasoline quality by increasing selectivity for H2S and enabling efficient condensation and alkylation, supporting cleaner fuel production and ...

Insight Into the Role of Polymers in the Bulk Synthesis of MgF2 for the Fluorination of 2‐Chloropyridine

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
MgF2 is one of the most active catalysts for the Cl/F exchange in the transformation of 2‐chloropyridine. The presence of a structuring agent such as PMMA or Pluronic F68 as polymers, leads to a higher specific surface area after HF treatment (around 30%) corresponding to a higher catalytic activity.

Balancing Activity and Stability in Phenol Oxidation via In Situ H2O2 Generation Over Fe‐Modified AuPd Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
AuPdFe catalysts offer highly efficient degradation of phenol through the in situ synthesis of ROS from H2 and O2. Through tuning of the AuPd/Fe ratio, a tenfold increase in phenol degradation compared to the bimetallic parent system may be achieved.

Dynamics of the Galvanic Replacement Reaction of Silver by Gold: Phenomenological Models for Open Circuit Potential‐Time Responsive Indicator

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
This article explores the dynamics of replacing three silver atoms by one gold atom (galvanic replacement reaction [GRR]) within silver nanoparticles. The reaction is tracked experimentally using open circuit potential and then mathematically fitted to a sigmoidal kinetic function inspired by autocatalytic and enzymatic cascade reaction functions to ...
