Characteristics of chlorites from the Haopinggou Ag–Au polymetallic deposit in the Xiong’ershan ore concentration area and its exploration implications

open access: yesDizhi lixue xuebao
Objective  The Haopinggou Ag-Au polymetallic deposit is a typical intermediate-sulfidation epithermal deposit in the Xiong'ershan ore concentration area. Ag-Pb-Zn mineralization mainly occurs in steeply dipping veins and breccia matrix.

Dehydroxylation Kinetics of Clay Minerals and Its Application to Friction Heating Along an Imbricate Thrust in an Accretionary Prism

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2018
Dehydroxylation of clay minerals within fault gouges is significant for assessing transient thermogenesis due to high‐velocity, frictional slip along fault zones.

Predicted reconstruction of the profile distribution of minerals according to the content of the stable component in the crust light solonetz of dry-steppe zone in the south of Russia

open access: yesБюллетень Почвенного института им. В.В. Докучаева, 2021
On the basis of detailed, conjugated, qualitative and quantitative analysis of clay and clastogenic minerals of the crust solonetz of the Volga region, the profile composition of minerals is calculated according to the content of a stable component.

The Clay Minerals in the Soils of the Gypseous Belt of Barbastro, NE Spain

open access: yesLand
This article examines the clay mineralogy of twelve representative soils developed from gypsum-rich parent materials on several geomorphic positions. These soils were classified as Haploxerept, plus one profile as Humixerept and another as Xerorthent ...

Mineral Chemistry of Chlorite Replacing Biotite from Granitic Rocks of the Canadian Appalachians [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2009
Chlorite flakes, as a product of alteration of biotite, the dominant ferromagnesian mineral in the Paleozoic granitic rocks of the Canadian Appalachians, have been analyzed by electron microprobe for major elements and by 57Fe M?ssbauer spectroscopy for ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Weathering of Chlorite Illite Deposits in the Hyperarid Qaidam Basin: Implications to Post-Depositional Alteration on Martian Clay Minerals

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
Chlorite is the second-most common class of clay minerals on the Martian surface and has been found to coexist with illite in some regions. Although previous studies have paid much attention to the formation of this assemblage, the post-depositional ...

Selective Separation of the Rare Earth Elements Dysprosium and Neodymium via Tailoring Nanocellulose Chemical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.
