Unexpected Dual Function of Plant YUCCA Enzymes Links Chlorophyll Catabolism to Auxin Homeostasis
YUCCA enzymes are well known to catalyze the main step of auxin biosynthesis in plants. Here, a hitherto undescribed dual function was discovered, revealing that some YUCCAs also act in chlorophyll degradation. In vitro feedback regulation furthermore suggests a link between chlorophyll degradation and hormone homeostasis and a physiological role of ...

A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.

The stability of pigments in the thalli and extracts of the Barents Sea fucus algae
Fucus algae of the Barents Sea are a promising source of biologically active substances (BAS), including carotenoid and chlorophyll pigments. The main direction of processing these types of brown algae is aimed at obtaining polysaccharides, and therefore

A New Chlorophyll Degradation Pathway [PDF]
Chlorophyll degradation is vital during leaf senescence and fruit ripening, as it allows for recycling of nitrogen and other nutrients and for protection from buildup of phototoxic chlorophyll intermediates ([Hortensteiner, 2006][1]).

Domestication of Tartary buckwheat is selected for a salt tolerance mechanism involving the magnesium transporter FtMGT2. Its expression is controlled by the FtAGL16‐FtMYB15L module, which is stabilized under salt stress through a competitive interaction that blocks its degradation by the E3 ligase FtBRG1, ultimately boosting Na⁺ efflux and plant ...

Covalently linked chlorophyll a dimer: A biomimetic model of special pair chlorophyll [PDF]
The synthesis of a covalent dimer of chlorophyll a which possesses properties strikingly similar to those exhibited by P700 special pair chlorophyll in vivo is described. The covalent dimer is characterized by several spectroscopic techniques.
