A Trypsin‐Like Serine Protease ZmNAL1a Fine‐Tunes Maize Floral Transition and Flowering Time

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a trypsin‐like serine protease, ZmNAL1a, that moves from leaves to the shoot apical meristem. ZmNAL1a promotes the floral transition by degrading TOPLESS‐like corepressor REL2, which thereby enhances the expression of key flowering genes through elevating histone acetylation and relieving REL2–ZmEREBP147‐mediated transcriptional ...

Chlorophyll fluorescence of the testa of Brassica oleracea seeds as an indicator of seed maturity and seed quality

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 1998
Chlorophyll fluorescence of the testa of seeds is proposed as a non-invasive method for the determination of maturity and quality of seeds. In this study cabbage seeds (Brassica oleracea) were sorted individually based on the chlorophyll fluorescence ...

New 3-D Fluorescence Spectral Indices for Multiple Pigment Inversions of Plant Leaves via 3-D Fluorescence Spectra

open access: yesRemote Sensing
High-sensitivity fluorescence monitoring has been widely used in agriculture and environmental science. However, the active fluorescence detection information of leaf segments mainly focuses on total chlorophyll, and the fluorescence information of ...

Chlorophyll fluorescence emission spectrum inside a leaf [PDF]

open access: yesPhotochemical & Photobiological Sciences, 2008
Chlorophyll a fluorescence can be used as an early stress indicator. Fluorescence is also connected to photosynthesis so it can be proposed for global monitoring of vegetation status from a satellite platform. Nevertheless, the correct interpretation of fluorescence requires accurate physical models.

Chloroplast Stress Signals Orchestrate Epidermis‐Specific Remodeling of Mitochondria and ER Under High Light

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High light exposure triggers an epidermis‐specific remodeling of mitochondria and ER in Arabidopsis, driven by chloroplast‐derived signals. Live‐cell imaging shows that HL rapidly suppresses mitochondrial motility, followed by fusion‐driven elongation and ER cisternal expansion.

Tailored Organogel Systems for Optimized Pesticide Delivery: Mechanistic Insights and Agricultural Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing molecular engineering for network design, three pesticide‐loaded organogels (PLOs) carriers exhibiting varying degrees of flexibility were prepared. The mechanical properties of these carriers, tunable via their network molecular structures, enhance their structural adaptability and retention stability at biological interfaces, thereby ...

Seasonal biases in fluorescence-estimated chlorophyll-a derived from biogeochemical profiling floats

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Marine phytoplankton biomass and chlorophyll-a concentration are often estimated from pigment fluorescence measurements, which have become routine despite known variability in the fluorescent response for a given amount of chlorophyll-a. Here, we present

Using leaf chlorophyll fluorescence for in-season diagnosing herbicide resistance in Echinochloa species at reproductive growth stage

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2018
The chlorophyll fluorescence measurement to diagnose herbicide resistant Echinochloa species at the reproductive (late) growth stage was applied. The significant correlation between Fv/Fm (chlorophyll fluorescence measurements) and fresh weight (whole ...
