A non-destructive method for monitoring the ripening of tomatoes based on their induction of chlorophyll fluorescence

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Engineering, 2020
Maturity is one of the most important factors associated with assessing the quality of tomatoes. The aim of this study is to develop a new device to measure the degree of ripeness of tomato fruits based on chlorophyll fluorescence.

Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

SATELLITE FLUORESCENCE AS A MEASURE OF OCEAN SURFACE CHLOROPHYLL

open access: yesGayana, 2004
Both the MODIS optical sensors on the NASA Aqua and Terra spacecraft and the MERIS instrument on the ESA Envisat measure spectral radiance in bands designed to allow detection of the fluorescence signal from surface chlorophyll in sea water, stimulated ...

The Effect of Sugar Beet Broadleaf Herbicides on Fluorescence Induction Curves in Amaranthus retroflexus L. and Portulaca oleracea L.

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2017
Chlorophyll fluorescence analysis is a simple and rapid method for detecting herbicide effects after a short time following their application in photosynthetic apparatus in plants.

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Using leaf chlorophyll fluorescence for in-season diagnosing herbicide resistance in Echinochloa species at reproductive growth stage

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2018
The chlorophyll fluorescence measurement to diagnose herbicide resistant Echinochloa species at the reproductive (late) growth stage was applied. The significant correlation between Fv/Fm (chlorophyll fluorescence measurements) and fresh weight (whole ...

Aplications of Laser Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence Imaging to detect Environmental Effect on Spinach Plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Laser Induced Chlorophyll Fluorescence spectroscopy has been developed and used for many years and recently becomes a promising nondestructive method to detect early symptoms of environmental stresses on plants. An affordable, portable, and

Photophysiological and photosynthetic complex changes during iron starvation in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 and Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942

open access: yes, 2013
Iron is an essential component in many protein complexes involved in photosynthesis, but environmental iron availability is often low as oxidized forms of iron are insoluble in water.

Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence of Chlorophylls in Single Light-Harvesting Complexes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Ensemble and single-molecule spectroscopy demonstrates that both emission and absorption of peridinin−chlorophyll−protein photosynthetic antennae can be largely enhanced through plasmonic interactions.

DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM Analyses Implicate the Critical Role of RNA Structural Dynamics in Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus Pathogenicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA structural profiling of Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus by DMS‐MaPseq and DREEM analyses uncover that viral genome‐wide RSS is highly complicated and heterogeneous, with alternative RSSs widely distributed across the genome. Notably, the viral 3’ tRNA‐like structure adopts alternative conformations in vivo.
