Abstract Wildfires have become larger and more frequent because of climate change, increasing their impact on air pollution. Air quality forecasts and climate models do not currently account for changes in the composition of wildfire emissions during the commonly observed progression from more flaming to smoldering combustion.

Exploring the missing source of glyoxal (CHOCHO) over China [PDF]
Recent comparisons between satellite observed and global model simulated glyoxal (CHOCHO) have consistently revealed a large unknown source of CHOCHO over China. We examine this missing CHOCHO source by analyzing SCIAMACHY observed CHOCHO vertical column densities (VCDs) using a Regional chEmical trAnsport Model (REAM).

The ABC of Generalized Coordination Numbers and Their Use as a Descriptor in Electrocatalysis
In this review, the basics of generalized coordination numbers (CN¯$\overline {{\rm{CN}}} $ or GCN) and their use to capture adsorption‐energy trends, elaborate electrocatalytic activity plots, and selectivity maps are shown. Importantly, CN¯$\overline {{\rm{CN}}} $ outlines the geometry of the active sites, allowing for atom‐by‐atom catalyst designs ...

Reassessing the ratio of glyoxal to formaldehyde as an indicator of hydrocarbon precursor speciation [PDF]
The yield of formaldehyde (HCHO) and glyoxal (CHOCHO) from oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) depends on precursor VOC structure and the concentration of NOx (NOx = NO + NO2).

Problems with and Improvement of HCHO/NO2 for Diagnosing Ozone Sensitivity—A Case in Beijing
Rfn (formaldehyde/nitrogen dioxide) is a common indicator based on satellite observations used to classify ozone formation sensitivity. However, it may underestimate anthropogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in heavily polluted cities when only ...

Oils from Andean lupin beans were extracted on different units of scale to evaluate optimal scCO2 processing conditions and economical viability for industrial production. Abstract Oil extraction from Andean lupin beans (Lupinus mutabilis SWEET) via supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) was studied on both lab scale and pilot scale.
