The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

An approach to derive economic weights in breeding objectives using partial profile choice experiments

open access: yesAnimal, 2007
The aim of this study was to show how choice experiments can be used to derive economic weights in breeding objectives. In a choice experiment, respondents are asked to view various alternative descriptions of a good differentiated by their attributes ...

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

A twofold quantum delayed-choice experiment in a superconducting circuit [PDF]

open access: yesScience Advances, 2016
A twofold delayed-choice experiment was performed, where the behavior of a quantum system was a posteriori chosen twice. Wave-particle complementarity lies at the heart of quantum mechanics.
