MR cholangiography (MRC) uses the inherent contrast of fluid on magnetic resonance imaging to image the biliary tree and gallbladder noninvasively. The images produced are similar in appearance to those of invasive methods. Visualization of bile duct morphology with MRC equals or exceeds that of the invasive methods.
