HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, and Triglycerides as Risk Factors for CKD: A Mendelian Randomization Study.

American Journal of Kidney Diseases, 2017
High-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and triglyceride concentrations are heritable risk factors for vascular disease, but their role in the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is unclear.2-sample Mendelian randomization analysis of data derived from the largest published lipid and CKD studies ...

Non-HDL-cholesterol and apolipoprotein B compared with LDL-cholesterol in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk assessment

Pathology, 2019
Low density lipoprotein (LDL) is the predominant atherogenic lipoprotein particle in the circulation. Conventionally, a fasting lipid profile has been used for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk assessment.

Influence of bezafibrate and colestipol on LDL-cholesterol, LDL-apolipoprotein B and HDL-cholesterol in hyperlipoproteinaemia

Atherosclerosis, 1987
A significant increase of LDL-apolipoprotein B by 13% and LDL-cholesterol by 19% was observed in a group of 9 patients with hyperlipoproteinaemia Type III after bezafibrate treatment. Additional administration of colestipol caused a significant decrease of both LDL-apolipoprotein B by 18% and LDL-cholesterol by 25%.

Remnant cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and incident cardiovascular disease among Koreans: a national population-based study.

European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, 2023
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The synergistic association of remnant cholesterol (remnant-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels with incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) in various subgroups of Koreans was investigated.

Calculated values of serum LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) – for better or worse?

Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, 2021
The use of Friedewald's formula to calculate serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is well-known to have limitations. A modification of it, in 2013, has been proposed to be superior. However, it was not known whether LDL-C values (calculated by the modified formula) meet laboratory performance criteria for their estimation. This study aimed

The Allopurinol and Febuxostat in the Treatment of Hyperuricemic Patients and Their Impact on Lipid Fractions (Cholesterol, LDL, HDL)

Journal of Hunan University Natural Sciences, 2022
Little is known about the role of serum uric acid and its impact on lipid fraction. The associations between hyperuricemia and much co-morbidity such as dyslipidemia and others are well recognized. This study aims to explore the impact of Allopurinol & Febuxostat on the serum lipid levels in hyperuricemia patients.

Worldwide burden of LDL cholesterol: Implications in cardiovascular disease.

NMCD. Nutrition Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases, 2019
BACKGROUND AND AIM an increased value of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is now universally considered a major cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factor.

Cholesterol in LDL receptor recycling and degradation.

Clinica chimica acta; international journal of clinical chemistry, 2019
The SREBP2/LDLR pathway is sensitive to cholesterol content in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), while membrane low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) is influenced by sterol response element binding protein 2 (SREBP2), pro-protein convertase subtilisin ...

Levels of triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL, HDL and glucose in patients with schizophrenia, unipolar depression and bipolar disorder

Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Reviews, 2015
The aim of this study is to investigate differences in triglycerides (TGA), cholesterol (TC), HDL, LDL and glucose (FPG) levels in patients with acute schizophrenia, unipolar depression, bipolar depression and bipolar mania. Results for 2305 Caucasian patients were included in the study (1377 women, 59.7%; mean age 45.6).
