Transcriptional regulation of the human cholesterol 7.alpha.-hydroxylase gene

Biochemistry, 1992
As an initial step toward understanding the transcriptional regulation of cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase (CYP7) in man, we isolated and functionally characterized the 5'-flanking region of the human CYP7 gene. The nucleotide sequences of the first exon and 1.6 kb preceding the exon were determined and found to contain a TATA box at position -30, a ...

Increased bile acid pool inhibits cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase in cholesterol-fed rabbits

Gastroenterology, 1997
Cholesterol feeding unexpectedly inhibits cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase in rabbits. The aim of this study was to explore the mechanism.Twenty male New Zealand white rabbits were fed regular chow with and without 2% cholesterol for 10 days followed by 7 days of bile drainage.

Inhibitor HMG-CoA Reductase dan Cholesterol-7 Alpha-Hydroxylase dari Senyawa Aktif Genus Alphitonia : Studi In Silico

Lumbung Farmasi: Jurnal Ilmu Kefarmasian

Polymorphisms of human cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1992
Human liver cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase (CYP7) cDNAs were isolated from a human liver cDNA library. A full-length cDNA has 2901 nucleotides which encode a typical P450 polypeptide of 504 amino acid residues. Two different sequences of codon 100, TTT (Phe) and TCT (Ser), were identified in cDNA clones.

[Cholesterol-7-alpha-hydroxylase activity in cholelithiasis].

Minerva medica, 1977
The physiopathological mechanism of cholesterol supersaturation in the bile was investigated by determining cholesterol-7-alpha-hydroxylase activity in 5 normal controls and 8 subjects with cholesterol gallstones. Bile lipids were also evaluated. Hydroxylase values were higher (though not significantly) in the controls. A linear correlation (r = 0.797)

Cholesterol-7α-hydroxylase of pigeon liver microsomes

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1974
Abstract The assay conditions and properties of pigeon liver cholesterol-7α-hydroxylase were studied to provide a basis for comparison of the enzyme activity in pigeon strains. The specific activity of 7α-tritium in [7α, 7β-3H]cholesterol was obtained by determining the ratio of tritiated water to 7α-hydroxy [7β-3H]cholesterol following catalysis by ...

Regulation of cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase by different effectors.

The Italian journal of gastroenterology, 1997
Cholesterol degradation to bile acids represents 50% of total elimination of cholesterol from the body each day. Cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase and sterol 27-hydroxylase catalyze initial steps in the neutral and acidic pathways, respectively. Both enzymes were recently cloned and sequenced, and hence the molecular basis of their regulation could be ...

Effects of 3-methylcholanthrene and DDT on cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase in rats.

Drug-nutrient interactions, 1984
The possibility that cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase activity and cholesterol metabolism could be mediated by chemical inducers of the microsomal mixed function oxidase (MFO) system was investigated. Groups of male Wistar rats weighing about 250 gm were treated with the inducer compounds, DDT, phenobarbital, or 3-methylcholanthrene, or with the ...
