Childhood periosteal chondroma
Archives of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, 2000We report here three fully documented cases of periosteal chondroma diagnosed and treated in our hospital. There have been few references since Lichtenstein first described this condition as a separate tumour, and none of them concerned children under 10 years old. deSantos accurately describes the radiological features of the tumour.

The case of a 36-year-old woman with a tricuspid valvular tumor is presented. The lesion was successfully resected through the right atrium. Histologic examination showed a chondroma arising in a cardiac valve.

A chondrosarcoma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the chest wall. It usually presents on the anterior chest wall arising from the costochondral arches or sternum. It may occur as the result of malignant degeneration of a benign chondroma.
