Spinel in CV chondrules: Investigating precursor legacy and chondrule thermal histories
Meteoritics & Planetary Science, 2022In carbonaceous chondrites, Mg‐spinel (MgAl2O4) grains are ubiquitous in refractory inclusions but rarely reported in chondrules, where they may correspond to minerals either (i) inherited from chondrule precursors or (ii) crystallized from chondrule ...

Within this work, we present the first true three‐dimensional (3D) analysis of chondrule size. Knowledge about the physical properties of chondrules is important for validating astrophysical theories concerning chondrule formation and their aggregation ...

Laser microprobe noble gases and nitrogen analysis of chondrules from the Dhajala chondrite
Meteoritics and Planetary Science, 2020Noble gases and nitrogen are investigated in eight individual chondrules of the Dhajala H3.8 chondrite. The mean cosmic ray exposure age of the chondrules using 21Ne and 38Ar is 5.9 ± 3.0 Ma.

Chondrules are a major component of chondritic meteorites and potentially populated the entire protoplanetary disk before planet formation. Chondrules provide insights into the physical and chemical evolution of the protoplanetary disk.
