On Endomorphism Universality of Sparse Graph Classes
ABSTRACT We show that every commutative idempotent monoid (a.k.a. lattice) is the endomorphism monoid of a subcubic graph. This solves a problem of Babai and Pultr and the degree bound is best‐possible. On the other hand, we show that no class excluding a minor can have all commutative idempotent monoids among its endomorphism monoids. As a by‐product,

On the uniqueness of collections of pennies and marbles
In this note we study the uniqueness problem for collections of pennies and marbles. More generally, consider a collection of unit d-spheres that may touch but not overlap.

ABSTRACT The Minimum Path Cover (MPC) problem consists of finding a minimum‐cardinality set of node‐disjoint paths that cover all nodes in a given graph. We explore a variant of the MPC problem on directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) where, given a subset of arcs, each path within the MPC should contain at least one arc from this subset.

On extremal problems associated with random chords on a circle
Abstract Inspired by the work of Karamata, we consider an extremization problem associated with the probability of intersecting two random chords inside a circle of radius r,r∈(0,1]$r, \, r \in (0,1]$, where the endpoints of the chords are drawn according to a given probability distribution on S1$\mathbb {S}^1$.

New fiber and graph combinations of convex bodies
Abstract Three new combinations of convex bodies are introduced and studied: the Lp$L_p$ fiber, Lp$L_p$ chord, and graph combinations. These combinations are defined in terms of the fibers and graphs of pairs of convex bodies, and each operation generalizes the classical Steiner symmetral, albeit in different ways.

Multi‐Region Brain Organoids Integrating Cerebral, Mid‐Hindbrain, and Endothelial Systems
Multi‐Region Brain Organoids combine cerebral, mid/hindbrain, and endothelial components into an advanced 3D model capturing 80% of fetal brain cellular diversity. This platform reveals essential endothelial‐neural signaling networks that maintain region‐specific intermediate progenitors during hindbrain development.

Performance Improvement of Hybrid Vertical Axis Wind Turbines Equipped With J‐Shaped Blades
This study presents a novel hybrid vertical axis wind turbine, utilizing J‐shaped blades in Darrieus rotor. The proposed configuration shows the potential of J‐shaped blades in improving the overall performance of hybrid rotors. ABSTRACT Vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) are emerging as a promising solution for urban wind energy harvesting, owing to ...
