A taxonomy of emerging engineering modeling judgment in undergraduate engineering courses
Abstract Background In professional contexts, engineers use engineering judgment to create mathematical models. Despite the importance of judgment in professional practice, the development and enactment of engineering judgment by engineering students are understudied.

On Endomorphism Universality of Sparse Graph Classes
ABSTRACT We show that every commutative idempotent monoid (a.k.a. lattice) is the endomorphism monoid of a subcubic graph. This solves a problem of Babai and Pultr and the degree bound is best‐possible. On the other hand, we show that no class excluding a minor can have all commutative idempotent monoids among its endomorphism monoids. As a by‐product,

ABSTRACT The Minimum Path Cover (MPC) problem consists of finding a minimum‐cardinality set of node‐disjoint paths that cover all nodes in a given graph. We explore a variant of the MPC problem on directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) where, given a subset of arcs, each path within the MPC should contain at least one arc from this subset.

Abstract Gerber half‐joints, broadly used in the last century as elements of concrete bridges, are prone to corrosion‐induced deterioration, which may lead to brittle shear collapse. It is of paramount importance to develop advanced numerical models for simulating the collapse behavior of Gerber half‐joints, taking material deterioration into account ...

ABSTRACT AllergoOncology explores the intersection of allergic diseases and cancer, focusing on shared immune mechanisms. While monocytes and macrophages are extensively studied in cancer, their roles in allergic diseases remain underexplored. To address this gap, we conducted a scoping review to systematically characterize the molecular landscape and ...

Mesenchymal fibroblasts were significantly expanded in desmoid fibromatosis (DF), and the mesenchymal fibroblasts in DF were further divided into two subtypes according to the differentiation states. ADAM12 and CREB3L1 were identified as the specific marker and transcription factor for DF.

This study's framework begins with large‐scale data integration, leveraging the ROSMAP cohort for multi‐omics discovery (genotyping, DNA methylation, transcriptomics, miRNA) and the ADNI cohort for validation. This data feeds into a comprehensive analytical pipeline where differential expression analysis and an ensemble of 10 machine learning ...
