Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

1976
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone that is synthesised by the syncytiotrophoblast cells of the placenta. The hormone is homologous in structure with human luteinising hormone (hLH) and shares with hLH similar qualitative biological actions on the ovary and the testis (Bishop, Nureddin and Ryan, 1976).

Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin

Endocrine Reviews, 1991
Cells from the chorionic girdle of the equine trophoblast invade the maternal endometrium at day 36 of gestation and become established as secretory elements known as the endometrial cups. These structures, which persist for 40-60 days, produce a gonadotropin which can be found in circulation until about day 130 of gestation. This glycoprotein has been

Chorionic gonadotropin receptors and immunoreactive chorionic gonadotropin in implantation of the rabbit blastocyst

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1984
To determine the temporal relationship between immunoreactive chorionic gonadotropin, chorionic gonadotropin receptors, and implantation of the rabbit blastocyst, (1) immunoreactive chorionic gonadotropin in plasma, uterine flushings and blastocysts; (2) chorionic gonadotropin receptors on blastocysts (day 5 and 6) and embryonic and interembryonic ...

Determination of human chorionic gonadotropin

Best Practice & Research Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2013
Determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is used for diagnosis and monitoring of pregnancy, pregnancy related disorders, for trophoblastic and some nontrophoblastic tumors. In addition, hCG is determined for doping control in males. Assay of hCG is complicated by the occurrence of different molecular forms, which are detected to various ...
