Choroid plexus tumors are rare intraventricular papillary neoplasms derived from choroid plexus epithelium, which account for only between 0.4-0.6% of all intracranial and 2-3% of pediatric neoplasms. Plexus papillomas outnumber choroid plexus carcinomas by a ratio of 5:1 and around 80% of choroid plexus carcinomas arise in children.

INNERVATION OF THE CHOROID PLEXUS
Archives of Neurology And Psychiatry, 1947THE STUDY of the innervation of the choroid plexus is attended with great technical difficulties, explaining the paucity of investigations on this subject. Isolated notes on the nerve supply of the choroid plexus are found in the works of older authors.

Development of the choroid plexus
Microscopy Research and Technique, 2000Mammalian choroid plexuses develop at four sites in the roof of the neural tube shortly after its closure, in the order IVth, lateral, and IIIrd ventricles. Bone morphogenetic proteins and tropomyosin are involved in early specification of these sites and in early plexus growth.

Xanthogranuloma of the choroid plexus
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1984Uncommon tumefactions known as xanthogranulomas can occur throughout the body. Some appear to develop as benign or malignant neoplasms. An even less familiar xanthogranuloma occurs within the choroid plexus. Most are tiny plaques only a few millimeters in diameter. However, they can present as masses of significant size within the glomus.

The isolated choroid plexus cyst
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 1998To describe the karyotypes of a population of fetuses with choroid plexus cysts and compare affected fetuses with and without additional ultrasonographic findings. The study population included all patients undergoing second-trimester ultrasound examination in a prenatal diagnostic program between January 1993 and October 1995.

Lectin binding sites in the choroid plexus and choroid plexus papillomas
Neurosurgical Review, 1980The surface of the cells of the normal choroid plexus and of the plexus papillomas is coated by sialomucopolysaccharides, containing substances which are positively stained with the colloidal iron (Hale-) reaction. After pretreatment with neuraminidase sialic acid is removed rendering the membrane negative to the Hale reaction. Using FITC- or rhodamine-

Tumors of the Choroid Plexus in Children
Neurosurgery, 1989Abstract Primary neoplasms of the choroid plexus in children are surgically treatable, and the encouraging results of surgical removal, even for carcinoma, justify an aggressive surgical approach, Forty cases operated on over a span of 45 years have been reviewed in detail, including a rereading of all microscopic slides.

Multiple Sclerosis Journal
The choroid plexus (CP), a highly vascularized structure within the ventricles of the brain, has come under increased scrutiny over the last several years as potentially having a role in the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis (MS). Originally consider as being only responsible for the production of cerebrospinal fluid, it is now widely recognized ...

A review is made of 234 cases of choroid plexus papillomas collected from the literature, to which 11 unpublished personal cases are added. The clinical features, plain roentgenographic findings of the skull, and the value of pneumography, cerebral angiography and gamma encephalography in establishing the diagnosis are discussed in detail. The majority ...

Choroid plexus papillomas and human choroid plexus
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1983✓ Choroid plexus papillomas and mature human choroid plexus were studied by light and electron microscopic techniques. The mature choroid plexus has three types of cells: Type I cells are cuboidal or columnar cells and line the villi; Type II cells are flat cells lining connective tissue adjacent to neural tissue; and Type III cells are flat cells ...
