Clinical Characteristics of Choroidal Neovascular Membranes
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1987Eighty-three choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVMs) associated with pathologic entities other than age-related macular degeneration (study group) were compared with 64 CNVMs associated with macular degeneration (comparison group). Nine CNVMs (11%) in the study group, compared with 28 CNVMs (44%) in the comparison group, were occult membranes.

CHOROIDAL NEOVASCULAR MEMBRANE AFTER ENDORESECTION OF CHOROIDAL MELANOMA
RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2011The purpose of this study was to report two cases with choroidal melanoma who underwent endoresection and developed choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM) during follow-up.An interventional case series.A 62-year-old man with choroidal melanoma in his left eye was treated with endoresection with pars plana vitrectomy followed by radioactive ruthenium ...

Successful treatment of melanocytoma associated choroidal neovascular membrane with intravitreal bevacizumab [PDF]
Melanocytoma of the optic disc is a benign melanocytic tumour that rarely causes visual impairment. We report a rare case of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in association with optic disc melanocytoma and its response to intravitreal injection of the ...

Choroidal Neovascular Membrane
2012Choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVs) most commonly occur with age-related macular degeneration (ARMD). Features of ‘dry’ AMD include hard drusen, soft drusen, retinal pigment epithelial disruption and geographic atrophy. Patients with extensive small drusen, non-extensive intermediate size drusen or pigment abnormalities have only a 1.3 % 5-year ...

Choroidal neovascular membranes: reproducibility of angiographic interpretation
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000To determine interobserver agreement for classifying choroidal neovascular membranes in age-related macular degeneration.Six fluorescein angiograms of choroidal neovascular membranes were interpreted by 21 retina specialists. Reliability was measured by percent agreement and kappa coefficient.Interobserver agreement of membrane types ranged from ...

Surgical excision of subfoveal choroidal neovascular membranes
Current Opinion in ophthalmology, 1993The possibility for visual improvement after the treatment of subfoveal choroidal neovascular membranes with laser photocoagulation is poor. The surgical excision of these membranes in age-related macular degeneration, the presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome, idiopathic neovascularization, and myopia is the focus of current study.

EVALUATION OF CHOROIDAL NEOVASCULAR MEMBRANES BY OCTOPUS PERIMETRY
Retina, 1988A Sargon user-defined Octopus program was devised to quantitate central visual field changes following laser photocoagulation for choroidal neovascular membranes. The program was found to be reliable in testing the nine patients studied. All patients had areas of improved and areas of reduced sensitivity.

CHOROIDAL NEOVASCULAR MEMBRANE SECONDARY TO PRIMARY HEMOCHROMATOSIS
RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2007To describe the findings for a patient with hemochromatosis, angioid streak-like changes, and choroidal neovascularization.Case report.A 63-year-old man with primary hemochromatosis presented with recent vision loss. Visual acuity was 20/20 in the right eye and 20/70 in the left eye. Funduscopic examination and fluorescein angiography disclosed diffuse

Expression of neuropilin-1 in choroidal neovascular membranes
Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2003Neovascularization is a serious consequence of several eye diseases, including age-related macular degeneration. Neovascularization is under the control of proangiogenic factors, such as vascular endothelial growth factor and fibroblast growth factor.
